Basic skills class
We offer a 9-week program including an orientation the first week without dogs, 7 weeks of class work and a graduation ceremony all for a $90. This fee includes a membership to club for the remainder of the calendar year, so you can continue to train after you and your dog "graduate."
All of our instructors are well qualified having earned AKC obedience titles on their own dogs.
Our classes teach basic obedience commands like sit, down, come, stay and heel using positive reinforcement, primarily food. These classes are designed to help you and your dog develop a strong relationship. All pure and mixed breed dogs are welcome, but dogs must be at least six months of age.
Our spring and summer classes are taught outdoors at the Sinking Spring Fire Company. Fall and winter classes are held indoors at the 4H Community Center in Bern Township.
The first session is WITHOUT dogs. To register, click here for a registration form or call 610-670-7009 and leave a message on our voice mail. An information sheet and registration form will be mailed to you.

(The online form is in PDF format, if you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, click here to download the free software that will allow you to see the file and print the form).

Classes are held Tuesday evenings during the fall and winter and in the spring and summer outdoor sessions, Monday evenings and Saturday mornings are offered as well.
Deadline to register for classes is one week BEFORE class starts. This means your check and registration form must be RECEIVED by then. Thanks.

The Berks County Dog Training Club was founded in 1946 as a not-for-profit organization with the purpose of training you to train your dog. To this day we continue with that same purpose. Through the years we have grown to a membership of several hundred people. We are a very active group with many dedicated volunteers who would welcome the opportunity to "train you to train your dog."
